Every Zorra Carpet begins with a belief: the future of Indian carpet making is strongest when it stays connected to the people, places and patience that made it special in the first place.

The beginning
In Bhadohi, carpet making is not simply an industry. It is part of the rhythm of the place. Design ideas move through workshops, yarn is sorted by hand, looms come alive and patterns grow slowly into surfaces that can last for years.
Zorra was born from a desire to share that world with more people, in a way that feels relevant to how we live now. We wanted to make rugs that respect the depth of Indian weaving while speaking clearly to contemporary spaces: expressive, tactile, useful and never disposable.
That means listening closely. To the artisan who knows how a fibre behaves. To the designer who understands proportion. To the customer who knows the feeling they want a room to hold, even if they do not yet know the name for it.
The language of material
The raw materials around us are part of our visual vocabulary. A room full of yarn is a reminder that every finished carpet is built from thousands of small choices: a warmer red, a quieter blue, a softer neutral, a texture that catches the light just so.
We keep coming back to materials because they make design feel real. They give a rug its weight, its hand, its sense of welcome. They are where a beautiful idea becomes something you can live with.
The Zorra timeline
Our story is still unfolding. These are the principles that have shaped the journey so far and continue to guide every new collection.
We begin in Bhadohi, learning from the region's making culture and the many hands that keep its carpet heritage alive.
We look at the way modern spaces are used and ask what a rug can add: calm, contrast, softness, structure or a reason to linger.
We let the process remain visible. A subtle shift in pile or colour is proof of the person behind the work, not a reason to make it uniform.
We share the knowledge behind a carpet so choosing one feels personal, informed and connected to where it came from.
A wider imagination
Indian carpet craft carries centuries of pattern, colour and story. We honour that inheritance without believing that every rug needs to look the same. Sometimes the right piece is quiet and almost weightless. Sometimes it brings a burst of colour, a playful shape or a new point of view to the room.
Our story is also about giving contemporary design the freedom to be joyful. We make space for the traditional, the graphic, the soft, the surprising and the deeply personal.
